Description	Photograph, most likely a daguerreotype, of a couple. Although not confirmed, this photograph is possibly of Samuel W. Evans and his wife, Sarah Jane Evans of Brush Valley, Pennsylvania.
Date Original	ca. 1860
Biographical/Historical Note	Samuel W. Evans was born in 1839. He enlisted in the United States Army, 12th Regiment, Pennsylvania Reserve Infantry (41st Volunteers) on July 24, 1861. He mustered out on June 11, 1864 at Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. After the Civil War, census records indicate that he lived with his wife, Sarah Jane Evans, and children in Brush Valley, Indiana County, Pennsylvania and worked as a farmer. He died in 1908.
