When I last wrote to you my health was in a verry [sic] bad condition[,] since which time it has much improved. I have got almost back to par in point of health. I have been over three months a prisoner and not he[a]rd from any of you, and possibly you have not he[a]rd from me direct[,] though I have written several letters. I still look forward to an early exchange[,] though I confess I can[']t see any brighter prospect of it than there was three months ago. In some of my letters I requested you to send me some money and also a suit of cloth[e]s[;] as I made the request in three different letters, I presume you recieved [sic] one of them.
In case you have not I will reimerate [reiterate] what I desire. One sack coat[,] one pair of trousers[,] one pair of shoes No 8, four handkerchiefs[,] two suits of underclothes and some medicine such as you chuse [sic] to send.
I also wrote to send me a sterling bill of exchange for ten pounds Sterling that being I though[t] the safest way to get money through[,] as it is necessary to have my signature to make
