The long expected letters arrived day before yesterday and yesterday and No 62 has not been received yet, but perhaps it will be along to-day. I am sorry that you have gone back to Fort Morgan to live, especially when you think it unhealthy. We have reports of another expedition towards Mobile, and perhaps you will not remain long at the fort.
This is your birth day and I certainly ought to have sent you something nice for a birth day gift, but never mind, wait until you get home, and then there will be a better opportunity for making presents. As it is, I can only send you a kiss in this letter, which I have now a good opportunity to send, as there is no one in
