I received your letter in a short time after it was written and according to your request I will answer it immediately, and give you all of the knews [sic] that I can. I went home with Aunt Elizabeth last week, I did not stay very long as I returned home again the same day. I missed you very much, Kate & Elissie Garland came home with us. Your Ma said that she had received a letter frome [sic] you a few days before, and you said that you had writen [sic] two letters to me and I had not answered either of them. I have only received one from you since you have been at School.
I must now tell you something about Baltimore but it has been so long since I came from there I have nearly forgoten [sic] all of the knews [sic]. I enjoyed myself very much. Rachel Lane and I were together nearly all of the time Unkle [sic] William Nichols went with us to the Theatre several times, there was [sic] two or three beautiful pieces played one was called the Sea of Tree or the mother of Prayer that was an elegant piece Rachel and I enjoyed it very much. Rachel Lane is going to School in September to [editor's note: it looks as if the bottom of the letter has been cut off at this point]
