Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this oral history is to educate on the important role that women
served in World War II, through an interview with Anne Kelling, who was an Army
Nurse stationed in the Fiji Islands. This oral history combines first hand accounts with
historians’ views and present day textbooks. Additionally, Anne Kelling’s account as a
Nurse during World War II helps to clarify the events that took place and the fight for
equality on the battlefront.
