STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of this oral history project is to gain a more complete history of life
for women in the 1950s, through an interview of Rosalie Iadarola. This oral history
addresses work, education, suburbia, the Cold War, McCarthyism, marriage, and
motherhood. Ms. Iadarola verifies and refutes our existing understanding of the 1950s
and provides emotion that allows for a more complete picture of life for women in the
1950s.
