Description	In this 24-page handwritten incomplete document, given to a church congregation on May 9 (year unknown), Ferdinand C. Latrobe (1833-1911) discusses how he came to chose the topic of his speech, a topic he considers to be the most important event to have occurred in the nineteenth century, the abolishment of slavery in the United States of America. His speech includes a brief analysis of the political situation that precipitated the Civil War and his personal description of the inauguration of Abraham Lincoln. (Editor's note: Although this document is long, it ends abruptly, without a real discussion of the main topic of the speech, the abolishment of slavery in the United States, thus its description as "incomplete". Perhaps Labrobe intended to include remarks from item umfl007 here. Also, because he talks about the century coming quickly to a close, the speech was probably delivered in the latter half of the 1990s.)
