HAGERSTOWN
DIRECTORY
.
Preface
The
publisher
in
presenting
this, the
first
issue
of the
Hagerstown
Directory
,
feels
confidant
that
it
will
fill
a
long
felt
want
. There
is
no
better
index
of a
town's
progress
and
importance
than a
well-compiled
directory
. This the
publisher
has
tried
to
give
in this
volume
. There have been
no
time
or
pains
spared
to
make
it
complete
in
every
respect
, and
it
is
the
hope
of the
publisher
that
it
will
meet
with
general
approval
. To those that have
given
us
substantial
aid
,
we
return
thanks
. To the
press
and
all
that
kindly
aided
us in the
work
,
we
return
special
thanks
, with the
hope
of
meeting
you
all
again
, in the
future
, on
similar
work
.
I
remain
yours
most
respectfully
